Senator Barack Obama is poised to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday night as he received support from a steady stream of prominent party officials, signaling that the grueling primary battle with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is coming to a close….All eyes will be on the candidates’ public appearances after the primaries finish this evening. Mr. Obama is staging a victory celebration in St. Paul, Minn., inside the same arena where Senator John McCain of Arizona is expected to formally accept the Republican nomination in September…

AND THEN–
